The design team looked at many options and layouts before deciding to build almost entirely new. Our hard hat tour will observe the construction of the new 24,000+ square foot Ed Davis Community Center, placed where the original building once sat. We will discuss why the project went from a renovation to a nearly new build. We will observe how the new design engages the park setting and review how other facility improvements; including a new entry courtyard with playground, new building entry, a new full-size gymnasium with indoor walking track, a teen activity room, an upgraded kitchen, community rooms, and multi-purpose rooms serve the local population.
