Award of Merit: Commercial Office & Design Studio Adaptive Reuse

The new 23,000 SF commercial office is rooted in a plan that supports diversity and equity and balances an open studio with conference rooms, quiet rooms, private offices, and comfortable seating nodes to offer a safe place for every employee to work. The space was crafted to improve health, wellness, and retention with sit\/stand desks, abundant natural sunlight, a meditation room, a family area for fun, and phone booths that offer seclusion for private conversations. The floor plan also fosters teamwork, promotes integration, and inspires teams to grow and adapt with departments organized based on workflow, accessible supervisor offices, and areas for impromptu mentoring and collaborations. Throughout the design and construction processes, the design team learned that small decisions work together to make a significant impact.
