Staff will be offering an in-person session for expected participants looking for feedback before submitting their designs. Participants are asked to bring printed plans or a laptop to share them in a digital format. "]]],[1,"p",[[0,[],0,"While this is a drop-in style event, PDSD asks participants register to provide adequate staffing and light refreshments. "]]],[1,"p",[[0,[],0,"PDSD was awarded the AARP 2023 Community Challenge grant in June to launch a Casita Model Plan Competition. The grant will help establish a model plan library for ADUs, reducing design costs and barriers to building them. The selected designs will be included in the City of Tucson\u0027s Casita Model Plan library. Up to 10 selected designs will be awarded $1,000 funded by the generous grant. "]]],[1,"p",[[0,[],0,"After approving zoning changes which allowed for ADUs just over a year ago, Mayor and Council, working alongside PDSD, identified the potential to promote casitas as an inclusive and adaptable housing choice for the community. The AARP grant will particularly focus on addressing the housing requirements of older adults and families spanning multiple generations.
