{"version":"0.3.0","atoms":[],"cards":[],"markups":[],"sections":[[1,"p",[[0,[],0,"Lubbock AIA works to raise public awareness of the\nprofession of architecture in several ways. In 2021 we partnered with Women in\nArchitecture West Texas for our local female architects to not only apply to be\npart of the awareness campaign, but also to host the exhibit locally. We met\nwith Lubbock City Hall for a potential location so that the public would be\nable to read about the various women architects featured across the state. In\naddition the Board stays aware of any city council meeting line items that\naffect the profession, such as a billboard ordinance. Over the past several\nyears, developers have been challenging a local ordinance on billboard\nlocation\/size\/features. AIA Lubbock reaches out not only to the membership, but\nvarious public figures and contacts in related industries to attend meetings\nand speak out against overriding the ordinance. A similar issue came on the\ndocket in relation to the historic brick streets of the city. Again AIA Lubbock\nand our public supporters spoke out to continue to protect the streets. All of\nour public awareness campaigns are featured on our social media in order to\nreach the greatest audience and not just the membership who receives any\ninformation directly via email. "]]]]}
