The project\ndesign creates residential spaces, both permanent and temporary, community\ngathering, event, and learning spaces, and vast community gardens. Our project\naims to revitalize the building and renew its program to become a vibrant,\nbustling center which allows the community to create deep and meaningful social\nconnection, cultivate personal enrichment in a community context, and learn\nfundamental skills to participate responsibly in a sustainable society. "]]],[1,"p",[[0,[],0,"The project is located between Rijeka\nand Opatija, Croatia. The climate in Rijeka, Croatia is described as\ntransitional Mediterranean. In this climate Winters are slightly colder and\nSummers a bit rainier than in the Mediterranean climate. The coldest month of\nthe year is January, and the warmest is August. The winter, from December to\nFebruary, is quite mild. The summer, from June to August, is hot and sunny,\nwith some afternoon thunderstorms, and a few rainy days, more likely in June.\nGenerally, the heat is not excessive and the breeze blows from the sea. "]]],[1,"p",[[0,[],0,"The program we have created for our\nproject consists of three main parts: Community space, residential villas, and\nthe gardens. The built square footage totals roughly 38,000 square feet.\nApproximately 15,000 of that are villas, broken up into \u201ctemporary villas\u201d-\nroughly 8,500 square feet, and \u201cpermanent villas\u201d- roughly 6,500 square feet. These spaces include a\n1,000 square foot library, 3,400 square foot restaurant and bar, a 5,000 square\nfoot grand hall\/large event space, a 2,100 square foot market, and 1,200 square\nfeet of classrooms, among others. The rest of the built square footage is made\nup of supporting spaces such as storage, mechanical rooms, etc."]]]]}
