Uganda Women's and Children's Clinic

Spaces between buildings were a priority,\nprogrammed to promote informal connection and surprise experiences as users\nmove through the campus. Its central ground plane is defined by pavers,\nplantings, trees, and cascading steps that feature discrete seating zones. It\nalso builds on the traditions of local tradespeople while elevating design\nthrough applied research and adapted typologies. In focusing on native\nmaterials, the team ensured the clinic\u2019s construction expanded local\ncraftspeople\u2019s knowledge so they could employ these sustainable techniques in\nfuture projects.
