AIA MARIANAS 2022 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT

Ariane was awarded a $3,000 check at a dinner with her parents and some members of the AIA Marianas Board and Scholarship Committee. "]]],[1,"p",[[0,[],0,"Ariane is a resident of Saipan. Her inspiration in pursuing architecture began after volunteer work in the aftermath of typhoon Souledor. She attended University of San Francisco where she received her B.A. Architecture degree. Even in her struggles with the cultural shift and experiences as a person of color, Ariane remained a scholar and was heavily involved in school organizations throughout her undergraduate years. One of her personal academic milestones is being invited to join the Honors Thesis program where she was able to highlight the CNMI and its current and potential military footprint. "]]],[1,"p",[[0,[],0,"Upon graduating in 2021, Ariane flew back home to gain experience. She interned at Taniguchi Ruth Makio Architects (TRMA) Saipan office for one year. She has since decided to further her knowledge in the field by pursuing her masters degree, which will also pave a path toward her goals of licensure. Ariane believes that \u201cconstant learning in this evolving world does not only guarantee a successful design, but a successful designer as well\u201d. She is headed for Arizona State University this fall and we wish her the best of luck.
