The entertaining area\nopens directly to the pool, providing a shady escape from the summer sun. The\nbuilding\u2019s \u201cDogtrot\u201d plan engages with the landscape and provides views of a\nnearby stream. Sliding barn doors pay homage to the rural landscape. At night,\nthe screened louvers give shelter from bugs while allowing cool breezes to pass\nthrough the building. An adjacent kitchen features a \u201clemonade stand\u201d window,\nthat functions as a serving area in nice weather. Custom window weights engage\nwith a pulley to easily open and close the window. The exterior is clad with\nwhite clapboards to harmonize with the 18th century main house. The base is\nfaced with brick and local stone."]]]]}
