When a large parcel\nbecame available near their parents\u2019 existing camp, the owners pursued the\nopportunity to build their dream home. To provide a sustainable and environmentally\nconscious design, the camp was built away from the shoreline in order to\nincorporate stormwater management and passive shading. A modern camp with clean\nlines and traditional forms, focus was placed on accommodating the extensive program\nwithout making the camp feel massive. To allow for a walk-out basement with\nlake views and help reduce the height and massing of the structure, the house\ngrade relationship was studied. Large windows on both sides allow for\ntransparency and lake views. A private spa on the lower level provides space to\nrelax and recharge. A panoramic wall of windows with natural cedar siding, wood\ntimbers, and dark bronze finishes provides stunning lake views. The gable and\nshed roof lines and the screened porch and deck break up the massing of the\nstructure. An abundance of green design elements, the camp was designed with sustainability\nin mind. With its picturesque exterior, well-appointed interior, and\naccommodating size, the camp is a true sanctuary."]]]]}
