AIA applauds Congress for authorizing the Federal School Safety Clearinghouse

The Clearinghouse resources\nthat AIA and its members support are not a mandate for schools to follow, but\nrather information for them to make informed decisions that best fit the needs\nof their schools and community. However, the clearinghouse does require stable\nfunding. Therefore, AIA applauds Congress for guaranteeing authorization to ensure\nthat the Clearinghouse will continue to operate through future administrations.\nResources must be vetted by four federal agencies, including the Departments of Education, Homeland\nSecurity, Health and Human Services, and Justice. We urge them to\nvigorously review all resources submitted to the Clearinghouse to ensure that\nthey support healthy and safe school environments and do not disproportionately\nimpact ethnically diverse, women students, students with disabilities, or\nother historically under-represented groups."]]],[1,"p",[[0,[],0,"School design cannot prevent all incidents of violence.\nHowever, design best practices can help craft safe and welcoming learning\nspaces that encourage diversity, equity, and inclusion for the well-being of\nstudents and educators.
