She began her career in higher education at Anne Arundel Community College in 1999 as a professor and Department Chair of Human Services. In 2010, her administrative duties expanded as she was named the Department Chair of Health and Human Services. In this role she was responsible for the oversight of the Health, Fitness and Exercise Studies, Human Services, and Massage Therapy programs as well as the college\u2019s fitness and aquatics operations. In 2016, Elizabeth became the Dean of the School of Health Sciences (SHS). In her tenure as dean, she has been instrumental in reorganizing SHS to increase administrative and instructional resources and efficiency, creating new health sciences programs that meet workforce need, increasing the number of students admitted to the nursing program by 56%, guiding programs through both the initial and re-accreditation processes, and successfully providing oversight of the completion of the design phase of the college\u2019s new Health and Life Sciences Building (HLSB), which opened for instruction in August 2021."]]],[1,"p",[]],[10,1],[1,"p",[[0,[0,0],2,"Greg Mella"],[0,[],0,","],[0,[0,0],2," "],[0,[],0,"FAIA, SmithGroup\u2019s Director of Sustainable Design, is a pioneer and nationally recognized expert in sustainable design. Over the past 20 years, he has risen to become one of the nation\u2019s leading authorities on a myriad of green design topics and initiatives, including net-zero energy design, rainwater harvesting and net-zero water design, resilient design, materials transparency, and energy metrics and benchmarking. Greg first gained national attention in 2000 as a visible advocate of sustainable design when he served as SmithGroup\u2019s project architect for what would become the world\u2019s first LEED Platinum building \u2013 the Philip Merrill Environmental Center, in Annapolis. Greg is a past member of the AIA Committee on the Environment Advisory Group and the AIA 2030 Commitment Working Group."]]]]}
