Meet the 2022 Board of Directors

As a Senior Associate at FGM Architects , she enjoys creative problem solving, and working with her clients to help bring their vision to the built environment. Maggie is also an active contributor to strategic planning initiatives for the municipal studio, and serves on the Professional Development Committee. Current project leadership role is managing diverse multi-discipline project teams, active interface with client\/stakeholders, scheduling\/budgeting, managing contracts, technical oversight, and business development. Comprehensive knowledge of all phases of the project delivery process: conception through activation. Primary market focus is the Midwest but is also active in southern and southeastern United States. In search of his next challenge, in 2021 he joined ARCON Associates in Lombard to focus on K-12 education projects. At ARCON Associates he\u2019s currently managing a project team for a multimillion dollar K-12 addition\/renovation project in the north suburbs of Chicago. Prior to joining ARCON Associates he spent several years at Ethos Workshop Architects in Naperville, IL, running the design and construction administration of hospitality and commercial projects throughout the Midwest. His graduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania cultivated a passion for material expression and the incredible potential of digital design and BIM integration. Before joining ARCON and Associates Jeffrey has contributed to several award winning firms in Chicago, Philadelphia and New York including Ethos Workshop, Perkins Eastman, Ballinger and Rafael Vinoly Architects. Since 2018, he has served on the board of directors as President, Vice President, Secretary, and Director. In addition to his role as Past President, Jeffrey is also the chair of the Programs Committee and the Nominating Committee. As chair for the programs committee he\u2019s responsible for offering unique and engaging CEU and networking events. In his role as chair of the nominations committee he\u2019s responsible for the recruiting and nomination process for the board in 2023. As a leader within Wold\u0027s government sector team, he has experience working on projects across the entire spectrum of municipal and government facility types. He is dedicated to helping Wold\u0027s clients find effective solutions that reflect the identity and values of the communities they serve. \u0022I think the root of my interest in architecture lies in the fact that I enjoy helping people. In the public sector, I get to work with large groups with diverse backgrounds and perspectives to help them accomplish a common goal for their facilities. I love being a part of that process - something bigger than myself.\u0022 Matt and his wife, Carolyn, have two active and talented teenagers that keep their lives busy. A sports enthusiast at heart, Matt has coached both of his kids and their teams in several sports. With over 22 years of experience, he has provided exceptional\ndesign and client management skills for the development of a multitude of\neducational projects. His passion, talent, commitment as well as intimate\nknowledge of current pedagogies have made him one of Cordogan Clark\u2019s\nEducational Design Leaders. Alex\u2019s extensive design experience in Higher\nEducation, High School, Elementary School and Auditorium Theaters continue to\nkeep him at the forefront of Education Design. He most recently led the design\nand development of the award-winning Hinsdale Middle School in Hinsdale,\nIllinois. Alex has been married 25 years to\nhis high school sweetheart, Carli. Their daughter Abigail is a junior at ISU\nand their son Elijah is a sophomore at Northwestern University. In addition to serving as a One Year Director, Mike will also Chair the Committee on the Environment."]]],[1,"p",[[0,[0],1,"Christopher Lauriat, AIA"]]],[1,"p",[[0,[],0,"In nearly two decades of architectural practice, Christopher Lauriat has designed over 50 single family homes, several mixed-use and residential developments, dozens of ministry facilities, a Ronald McDonald House, office interiors, restaurants, and multimedia installations. He is assistant professor of Architecture at Judson University, focusing on design studios in architecture and interior design as well as digital representation and fabrication courses. Professor Lauriat is currently the assistant chair for the Department of Architecture and Interior Design. He was previously guest instructor in Physics at Wheaton College, teaching in the engineering program. Christopher holds a Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering from Ball State University and a Master of Architecture from Cornell University. He continues to serve in the community, co-leading an Architecture Club and Robotics Team at Wheaton Christian Grammar School and presenting design workshops in public elementary schools. Mr. Lauriat is a board member with the American Institute of Architects Northeast Illinois chapter, helping connect architects, students, and their communities. He has been integrally involved in award winning architecture projects in the Commercial, Technology, Corporate, Industrial, and Residential channels and his work has been included in Architectural Record (as a part of VDTA, Inc.) and Chicago Home Magazine. He has held such positions as Manager of Pricing and Strategy for PG Enlighten, Director of Architecture for Airoom Architects, LLC, Project Manager at Valerio Dewalt Train, Associates, Vice President of Sales and Operations at MJ Electrical Supply, Inc. and is currently the Director of Commercial Sales for Contech Lighting | A Leviton Company. In this role, Brian, has national sales responsibility. Within professional organizations, he serves as a co-committee chair for and the Illuminating Engineering Society, Chicago Chapter, and is committee member of the Programming Committee for the American Institute of Architecture, North East Illinois. He has also been a guest lecturer in Economics at Loyola and has served as a guest critic for Design Studios at the Illinois Institute of Technology. Maite also is a recipient of the Christifideles award for outstanding stewardship and service to the community from the Archdiocese of Chicago. She has over 20 years of experience in the industry working alongside developers, general contractors and architects with varying types of projects in hospitality, healthcare, K-12 and multi-family. Heather assists the Greater Chicago architectural community with product knowledge, coordination of specification writing, submittal reviews and code consulting. Heather believes in the importance of safety and security and knows the value of bringing not only her knowledge but also enthusiasm to each project and architectural firm.
