Committee members (both members and non-members) are essential in planning our programs, coordinating our fundraising efforts, and ensuring the success of our chapter. Committees tend to meet 6 times a year, with a time commitment between 12-24 hours each year. Learn more about our current committees by reading below. Members of the Advocacy Committee meet quarterly and are invited to participate in AIA Ohio\u2019s Legislative Day at the Ohio Statehouse in Columbus and AIA\u2019s Annual State \u0026 Local Government Conference."]]],[1,"h2",[[0,[1,1,2],3,"Dueling for Schooling \/ Fundraising Committee:"]]],[1,"p",[[0,[],0,"Members of the AIA Akron Fundraising Committee meet twice yearly, and primarily focus on the implementation and evaluation of AIA Akron\u2019s largest fundraiser, Dueling for Schooling. Held in early November each year, this event features Dueling Pianos provided by Dueling Pianos International and includes a silent auction, raffles, and a variety of prizes, which enable us to provide funding for local scholarships and educational opportunities to our members. Committee members are tasked with securing sponsors, silent auction items and marketing this event to their professional networks."]]],[1,"h2",[[0,[1,1,2],3,"AIA Akron \u0026 Akron-Canton CSI Golf Outing Committee:"]]],[1,"p",[[0,[],0,"Members of the AIA Akron \u0026 Akron-Canton CSI Golf Outing Committee jointly plan our annual golf outing, normally held on a Friday in June or July. The committee is responsible for making fundraising calls to secure sponsorship of the tournament as well as encouraging architects and those in the construction industry to participate in the tournament. Committee members are expected to attend the tournament as a player or a volunteer. This committee helps to facilitate cross-generational interaction between established and emerging professionals for personal and professional development, and the program is open to architects at every stage of practice.
