The firm, Snider Architecture, located in Dayton, Ohio provides design services for a wide range of building types including educational, industrial, medical\/dental offices, and residential. Marika has served on the AIA\u2019s national advisory group, Small Project Practitioners (SPP), and is currently the chair of the committee. The SPP serves over 9000 AIA members by developing and disseminating content to support small firms and architects involved in small projects. Marika was the SPP Journal Editor, 2011-2014, the chair of the 2014 SPP Research Grant, and is producing a video series Significant Small Projects with Marc Manack to highlight the role of small projects in the career of an architect. It was through the SPP that Marika initially became involved with the Contract Documents Committee. 2012-13 she served on the Small Firm Working Group as an outside reviewer and was then invited to join the Committee starting in 2014. "]]],[1,"p",[[0,[],0,"In the fall of 2014, Marika received a Fulbright Specialist Grant to teach a design studio at Jordan University of Science and Technology. While there, she also reviewed the curriculum and assisted faculty in course development. Marika has taught at the University of Utah, Miami University, and Salt Lake Community College. Currently she teaches part-time at Sinclair Community College\u2019s Civil, Architectural, and Construction Technology Program. Marika\u2019s PhD in Middle East History has given her opportunities to research and write about architecture and urban space in the Middle East. Her research has been well received at academic conferences and she has written two book chapters about the retail environment. Currently, she is working on a book about gender and retail space in Egypt before the Arab Spring Uprisings. In addition, Marika was a Fulbright Specialist, to teach architecture studio and review curriculum at Jordan University of Science and Technology, 2014.
