Citation for Design: Victory Lofts

Named to honor the US victory in World War 1, the Victory Factory employed 2,000 workers and produced 22,000 shoes daily in its most prosperous years. The developer came to the design team with a goal of revitalizing the building into 150 apartments with amenities including a lobby, fitness center, community room, tech lounge, pet spa, and outdoor patio. The design team developed a program to accommodate and exceed the owner\u2019s goals, designed the renovation within National Park Service Historic Preservation guidelines, and created a contemporary living environment in a building rich with history. The transformation of this iconic building pays homage to the region\u2019s history of shoe manufacturing, plays an instrumental part in revitalizing the community, and significantly expands housing in the area.
