As a gateway to the foothills, this setting was the perfect complement to the intent of the program, connecting its users with the outdoors."]]],[1,"p",[[0,[],0,"This facility was designed as a campus that is integrated into its context. The organization of the program elements were placed to maximize their views and connection to the park and river beyond. The Parti for the building design was taken from nature, specifically the river. The program elements are conceived as a group of objects, spaced to allow the users to flow between activities as well as find areas to socialize and connect with each other, not unlike water flowing around rocks in the river finding eddies to rest in before moving along on their journey."]]],[1,"p",[[0,[],0,"The use of Mass Timber for the primary structure of the Fieldhouse building was another aspect to encourage the athletes to feel connected to the outdoors while they work on their training inside the facility. Mass timber is highlighted and expressed throughout the building and in the primary program spaces. The biophilic design is most expressive with the use of CLT (Cross Laminated Timber) in the circulation spaces that connect the users to the active spaces of the building."]]],[1,"p",[[0,[],0,"Careful attention was taken to connect this facility to its surroundings, expansive windows for views and natural light as well as patios and outdoor training spaces. There is also temporary lodging for visiting athletes to stay within proximity to the river and natural environment while staying focused on their goals and close to the opportunities this facility provides."]]],[1,"p",[]],[10,0]]}
