The two-story, 30,000 SF facility contains five drive-thru apparatus bays, one wash bay, open concept kitchen\/dining\/living area, administrative areas, gender neutral bunk rooms, gender neutral locker rooms, a fitness room, a large training\/meeting room with kitchenette, catering kitchen adjacent to bays, and a museum area that is open to the public. The wash bay, gear laundry, workshops, and PPE storage areas are contained on the opposite end of the apparatus bays from the living and office areas. In addition to providing a high functioning fire station, the goal was to design an iconic building that contains spaces that can also be utilized for community meetings and large events. Great consideration was given to placement of and access to public areas. "]]],[1,"p",[[0,[],0,""]]],[1,"p",[[0,[],0,"Located on the southwest side of the building, the public lobby displays the volunteers\u0027 rich history and is immediately adjacent to the museum which showcases the Volunteers\u0027 1955 engine and pays tribute to the Company\u0027s two line of duty deaths. From this public lobby, visitors can easily access the museum, the apparatus bays for events, and the second floor training\/meeting room via stairs and elevators. The public area on the second floor thoughtfully includes a kitchenette and public restrooms for ease of use. The apparatus bays were designed with large rental events in mind.
