Energy efficient and sustainable design solutions are now being emphasized in the design programs. All entrants will be provided with a certificate of participation. The program was to challenge the designers to develop both a public and private art studio that takes advantage of the natural setting at Potter\u2019s Marsh surrounded by the Chugach Mountains and Turnagain Arm. Additionally, an email went out via the State of Alaska Department of Education and Early Development, CTE Administrator. The entries were required to be submitted by May 1, 2023. All entries were required to be submitted electronically, and all award certificates were issued electronically. Seven submissions were received, all of which were from students attending Mat-Su Career Tech. A total of $850 in award prizes was authorized by the AIA Alaska Board and awarded as follows: $300 First Place, $250 Second Place, $200 Third Place, and $100 Fourth Place. It is on State of Alaska land and\nlocated in the upper Cook inlet, north of Anchorage at the head of Knick Arm.\nThe refuge contains 28,000 acres of wetlands consisting of marshes and sloughs.\nThe Refuge is filled with thousands of migrating ducks and Canadian geese,\nalong with foraging moose and salmon.
