The Master of Architecture program\nprovided many opportunities to gain first hand design, restoration and\npreservation experience. At Lacey Thaler Reilly Wilson Architecture and\nPreservation here in Albany, we specialize in restoration, preservation and\nadaptive reuse of historic structures on a daily basis. Volunteering on the\nAIAENY board was important as it facilitates important relationships with other\ngeneral practitioners in the capital region and allows me to keep a pulse on\ncurrent trends. As the Vice President of Programs, it is a privilege to bring\nexciting and unique continuing education programs to our membership helping to\nstrengthen the local design community. Through the planning and attendance of a\nportion of these innovative events and cross pollination of other local preservation\ngroup happenings I am to further promote the importance of a historically\ndiverse community and a dense, populous, walkable urban core to the designers\nof this region. As the Chair for the Emerging Professionals committee, I enjoy\nencouraging camaraderie and development of aspiring architects and designers into\na close-nit network of regional collaborating professionals."]]]]}
