Examples\ninclude funding for the state building program to protect our investment in\nstate and university facilities, making schools safer by design, enhancing the resiliency\nof local communities through durable infrastructure systems and\nhigh-performance buildings, and promoting safe and affordable housing for all. The\nagenda also supports licensing of architects to protect public health, safety\nand welfare and opposes expanding the sales tax to architectural and other professional\nservices."]]],[1,"p",[[0,[],0,"Prior to\nheading to the State Capitol, AIA Wisconsin leaders received an overview of the\ncurrent legislative landscape as well as tips on effective grassroots advocacy from\nState Representative Chris Taylor (D-Madison). Young architects participating\nin the Architect Mentor Program (AMP) joined state and local AIA officers for\nthe legislative briefing and State Capitol visits. Representing over 1,500\nmembers, these AIA Wisconsin leaders encouraged state legislators to reach out\nto architects as a resource on important design, building safety and community\ndevelopment issues."]]]]}
