The Chesapeake Bay Chapter of AIA has been actively engaged with local and national events. Prior to the official start of the conference, more than 600 AIA architects ascended on the Capitol to discuss key issues with your legislators. Each one of us echoed the role architects play in our communities and the value of engaging architects early in the legislative process. Even a chapter such as ours has a unique opportunity to use our voices to promote safer schools, greener streets, and the value of preservation on a local level, under the AIA\u2019s "],[0,[0],1,"\u2018Blueprint for Better\u2019"],[0,[],0," campaign."]]],[1,"p",[[0,[],0,"It may feel like the year has just started, but we are already in full swing. The Design Awards portal is set to open soon and we are hoping for a record number of entries. In addition to the fall Design Awards Gala, scheduled are an exclusive tour of the Harriett Tubman Visitors Center, a tour of a new temple of worship on the Eastern Shore, the beginning of a \u0027Best Practices\u0027 series, and other educational programs to earn valuable learning credits. In September we will combine the opportunity to enjoy tasty steamed crabs with another exclusive tour, as Cloverfields Preservation Foundation welcomes us to the mansion site in Queenstown for our annual Crab Feast.
