For the most part, the proposed code update package would \nincorporate the 2015 editions of the model building codes developed by \nthe International Code Council (ICC). The Commercial Building Code \nCouncil reviewed the significant changes in each of the model building \ncodes from the currently adopted 2009 edition to the 2015 edition, \nincluding the 2012 edition that Wisconsin did not adopt in the interim. \nIn some cases, such as for certain energy conservation code provisions, \nDSPS is proposing to retain the 2009 model code requirements because of \ncost concerns. Building owners and architects would be able to \nvoluntarily use more stringent requirements found in the 2015 model \ncodes.
