Retired Architects [Proposed Legislation]

Architects who are at least 65 years\nof age or have maintained an active license for a minimum of 30 consecutive\nyears would be eligible for the continuing education exemption upon\ncertification that they have retired from professional practice and no longer\nengage in the practice of architecture. The exempt individual could continue to\nuse a title that clearly indicates to the public that they are retired (e.g.\n\u201cArchitect Ret.\u201d). The Assembly Committee on Regulatory Licensing Reform held a\npublic hearing last week. Several AIA Wisconsin members testified in support of\nthe proposal, including Jim Gersich, AIA, Thomas Hirsch, FAIA, and Michael\nEberle, AIA.
