AIA Dayton Scholarship Recipients 2013 - 2018

Allison, Audra and Kemet were awarded a total of $4,000 in scholarship monies through the AIA Dayton Architectural Scholarship Foundation. The awards were made possible through a matching grant from AIA National .The awards were announced at the July 16 AIA Dayton Golf Outing, which raises funds for the scholarships through the sale of golf mulligans. Kemet Floyd and members of his family attended the Golf Outing dinner and were recognized. Ms. Trittschuh was in Pittsburgh for an architectural internship for the summer, and Ms. Menges was at a softball tournament in Florida at the time of the golf outing. She is an Architectural Intern at\nEarl Reeder Associates, doing computer drawings for renovations and additions\nand documenting construction information and code verification. She is also the Vice President and a member\nof the editorial team of Studio Collective, the official design journal of the\nSchool of Architecture + Design, and a member of the AIAS chapter. In her off time, she is a dancer with the\nBallet Project at Virginia Tech, teaching and taking ballet and choreographing\nshows. Allison says that \u201cAfter getting a bachelor\u2019s degree in architecture\nwith a focus in architectural history, I would love to work toward a master\u2019s\ndegree and potentially a PhD so that I can work as a professor.\u201d Allison is spending the summer in Pittsburgh\nas an Architectural Intern."]]],[1,"h3",[[0,[2],1,"Audra Menges"]]],[1,"p",[[0,[],0,"Audra Menges is a 2018 graduate of Miamisburg High School\nwith Honor\u2019s Path college credits from Sinclair Community College and Wright\nState University. She will be attending\nJudson University in Elgin, Illinois, in the fall, pursuing a master\u2019s degree\nin architecture, while playing on the university\u2019s softball team. While in high\nschool, Audra was the newspaper photographer, played varsity softball, and was\na member of Impact Girls Ministry, Elevate Youth Group and SWO Teen Bible\nQuizzing. Audra says \u201c While my favorite method of\ndesign is drawing, I do enjoy putting my designs into three dimensional\nobjects. I also love learning how to\nmake art on a computer screen. He was an architectural intern at Ware\nMalcolmb in 2017. Kemet says \u201cRight now,\nin my college studies, I am learning how to develop good study habits and time\nmanagement skills that will be needed in my graduate studies. Each year, AIA Dayton awards scholarships to outstanding students from the Dayton\/Miami Valley Region. Jenna Demeter is a 2017 graduate of Springfield High School. Jenna will begin her architecture studies at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville this fall. While attending Springfield High School, Jenna served as the National Honor Society President, captained the varsity tennis squad and held the position of chairperson for the Springfield High School Blood Drive for two years. Ms. Cook was awarded a $2,000 scholarship and Ms. Kick received a $1,000 scholarship. AIA Dayton was awarded a $1,000 matching grant from the American Institute of Architects in support of the scholarship program."]]],[1,"h3",[[0,[],0,"Alissa Cook"]]],[1,"p",[[0,[],0,"Alissa Cook is a 2016 Miamisburg High School graduate and a College Credit Plus Student (CCP) at Sinclair Community College and at the University of Dayton. CCP gives students the opportunity earn college credit before graduating high school. Alissa was a member of the National Honor Society and a three-year varsity athlete in bowling, holding team and individual records. She established a Student Mentorship Program to connect freshman students with seniors, writing the guidelines for student mentors and working with the school administrators for approval. She was also an elementary math tutor. Alissa will be studying architecture at Miami University in Oxford in the Fall 2016."]]],[1,"h3",[[0,[],0,"Anna Kick"]]],[1,"p",[[0,[],0,"Anna Kick is a member of the Class of 2018 School of Architecture and Interior Design Program at the University of Cincinnati. She was a member of AIAS Cincinnati her freshman year, was her residence hall president her freshman then treasurer her sophomore years, and is currently a member of the Fashion and Architecture Band and the UC Hepcats Swing Dance Club.
