John Horky, FAIA, named the 2021 Recipient of the Golden Award

He earned\nan MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1991. Horky worked for the\nZimmerman Design Group from 1984 to 1991, joining Kahler Slater in 1991 as a\nproject manager, eventually joining firm leadership in 1998 as a \u201csteward of\npeople.\u201d As the \u201cHR Guy\u201d for Kahler Slater, Horky has helped to cultivate a\nwork culture that has received national recognition, including being named as\none of the 25 Best Small Companies to Work for in America for twelve years in a\nrow by the Great Place to Work\u00ae Institute, as published in Fortune magazine, in\nrecognition of its outstanding workplace environment.
