The Lecture Series highlights a wide\nvariety of topics on design, including architecture. With our\ncontribution, the series is free to all, and provides a great platform for\npublic awareness of architectural issues."]]],[1,"p",[[0,[],0,"Additional joint programming has proved to help connect AIA\nmembers with other AEC organizations. A Joint AIA\/CSI event focused on the new\nAWI standards for woodwork. A joint building tour with SES brought\narchitects and structural engineers together to review tilt-up concrete\nconstruction."]]],[1,"p",[[0,[],0,"Building tours in 2019 included: Black Hawk Church,\nFitchburg; Fire Station 14, Madison; Delta Beer Lab, Madison. All three\ntours explored unique building typology and construction methods and reflected\non the individual social goals of the project."]]],[1,"p",[[0,[0],1,"ADVOCACY"]]],[1,"p",[[0,[],0,"AIA WI continues to be a leader in advocacy for the\nprofession of Architects and our commitment to the community."]]],[1,"p",[[0,[],0,"In February, AIA WI officers, future leaders, and committed\nmembers visited the Capitol in Madison to meet with our local state\nlegislators. We introduced ourselves, the AIA, and shared the value and\nresourcefulness of Architects."]]],[1,"p",[[0,[],0,"In March, AIA WI officers participated in a National Capitol\nHill day, meeting with senators and representatives to not only introduce AIA\nand Architects to their office, but to promote a few upcoming bills. One\nthat is currently in the works would provide funding for design for school safety."]]],[1,"p",[[0,[0],1,"COMMUNICATION"]]],[1,"p",[[0,[],0,"We\u2019re always trying to improve our communication with\nmembers, and this year we put a lot of focus into creating more channels for\nconnection. We now have a dedicated LinkedIn page and Facebook group for\nAIA SW WI, used to promote events and architectural awareness. She finds joy in creating quality spaces for the building\nusers and understands how some of the smallest design opportunities can have\nthe biggest impacts. We are also hoping to start offering programs at different locations and\ntimes in order to try to attract members that may not be able to make certain\nlocations or times work for them.
